Irrigation
The Irrigation screen allows you
to record the number of hours of watering either in advance,
(where an instruction sheet can be generated), or after the event.
As in
all areas of the GrowData program, detailed set up makes for simple
operation. The cost of water per mega litre is established at both
peak and off peak rates.
When the blocks are being set up,
information is recorded about the:
§
drippers/sprinklers
used in each block
§
flow rate
of each type
§
number
of dripper/sprinklers per block
Once the program knows how many
hours have been applied, it is a simple function to calculate the
volume of water per block and the cost.
Unfortunately it’s not always that
simple, as many blocks will have multiple valves and often parts
of the block will be watered by different shifts. To overcome
this we have developed some very smart programming which allows you
to enter the number of valves on each block and then shifts can be created
which reflects how valves are actually grouped within a shift. All you
have to do is select the shifts that are to be turned on and GrowData will
do the rest.
